Handy Supplies To Have in The Office

Whether you're a low-level employee at a small cubicle or a high-level executive in your office suite, everyone needs office supplies to get through their day-to-day tasks. Certain things are necessary in order to properly run your business and meet the demands of employees, customers, partners, and other clients. In this article, I will come up with a few office supplies that I deem as completely essential to have in any office. From sticky notes to packing supplies, your will need to acquire some good office materials to be able to work effectively.


It is extremely important to have planners, paper, notepads, sticky notes, and similar items on hand in your business. While many aspects of a business have moved to an online platform with programs like Microsoft Office, Google calendar, emails, and note apps, nothing can truly replace business done on paper. Having a planner nearby during your office hours is incredibly important to stay on track. Planners can assist you in remembering meetings, phone calls, and other essential commitments. In addition, planners will help you keep track of your daily tasks and aid in prioritizing different tasks that need to be completed throughout the day. I use a planner all the time in my everyday life. I like it because it is an extension of my memory and allows me to write things down and then forget about them for the time being. A fun thing you can do with a planner is to divide it into left and right columns. On the left, you can write in things that you need to complete that day to be productive and successful for work or school. On the right side, write down hobbies or interests that you want to engage in at some point during the day. This is a good practice to utilize, as often times we can forget to take time for ourselves and also do things that we enjoy throughout the day. 


Other office supplies like pens, pencils, packing supplies (like bubble wrap or packing peanuts), tape, staplers, and similar products are essential to being able to run an effective business. Don't forget printer ink, which is incredibly expensive for basically no reason at all. I mean, are we really going to sit here and let them charge us 30 or 40 dollars for one cartridge? I, for one, am sick of it. Anyways, printer ink is a must-have if you plan on printing out any tangible documents. Like I said earlier, the shift to technology has taken over much of the business world. However, I still think there is a lot of room for physical copies of various documents in the office on a regular basis. 


Remember to keep office supplies well stocked and stored in appropriate ways. Most places of employment don't have problems with employees taking office supplies, but you never want to take that chance. Lock things up if necessary! Remember, printer ink is too expensive to let people have free reign to that stuff. It also helps if employees know the value of the office supplies they are working with. Work-life balance and overall satisfaction of your employees can play a part in this as well. If your employees are happy with their office supplies at work, they won't want to steal any!
