Load up on boxes/supplies at home.

We all know that Covid is still a thing even though it is less dangerous than the flue.  But it is still 2021 and most of our rules that are not worth a damn are still in place.  But the reality is that that was not the biggest change for my family.  Our change came from the locational change of moving from an apartment to a home for the first time.  My wife and I found a home in the nicest neighborhood in our city and found out that since it needed lots of work that we could actually afford it.  We knew that we would have to do tons of work to this home and that it would take hundreds of hours of work on our part to make it liveable.  But what we discovered was that there are many items that people would consider to be packaging supplies that are constantly use and needed.

I know that we all use this and everyone has some on hand, but are really important to have on had are different types of tape.  The ability to have tape on hand is even more important for living in a home than versus an apartment.  That is because there are too many needs for different types of tape that can instantly happen.  These tapes are lifesavers and really time savers.  When it is also illegal to leave your home for non-emergency items it is also important to have lots of these items on hand.  You never know when you freedom of movement will be taken away in the United States. When you really think about it buying in bulk can save so much money and it is totally worth it.

If you live in America then you know that you need to have and will totally use duct tape. This tape was actually created around World War 2 and was made to waterproof ammo cans.  What people found was that it had a multitude of other uses and was amazing at sealing almost anything up.  Around the house, we have used it in emergencies to fix leaks and to hold items together to keep thousands of dollars of things from crashing down.  It is also a great way to seal up boxes and basically patch almost anything.  I have taped paintbrushes to poles in order to get to high places because we had broken our extendable paintbrush pole.  I have taped fans back together in order to air out our home when chemicals spilled.  I needed things fast and I needed an asnwer and duct tape simply was there for me and I think we all need it.

You may think it is sill but having extra boxes lying around can be super nice.  You never know when you will need to store items.  Or even keep items from damaging others and cutting up boxes and using them as flooring covers or simply padding has been a huge help in our home.  We stored the majority of our garage items in boxes and created a whole system for the organization.  Using not just cheap boxes but going to an online packaging supplies store to get top-notch boxes was the best decision we made. These are sturdy boxes that are basically plastic tubs for one-tenth the cost and that is a huge thing over time.

Are you moving in 2021? You need to read this.

I really enjoy working with others when they need help.  This means that I end up spending a lot of weekends helping out people and this helps my personality a lot.  I like to be social so its a cool thing for me and them. This year I have been able to help out many friends and family because moving has been happening left and right.  The housing market has been perfect for selling and buying due to interest rates being the way they are.  So many people have decided to pack up their boxes and change locations.  What I found was that some of the normal ways we move are simply not good and can end up hurting people. You would not believe the injuries and broken Items that I saw.  It was pretty wild to see all the issues and I want to give the knowledge to help.

We all know we can get free boxes at big box stores.  This is stamped into our genetics in the midwest.  Or you start asking your family for their old boxes when they moved.  Usually, we find enough to move and don't have to spend a dime on it.  What people don't realize is that by not spending money on boxes they are costing themselves the risk of injury and also the cost of broken items.  Now, this is not always true, but usually, the older the box is what we end up getting.

I got hurt this year and it was because of a darned box. This was because the box I picked upheld.  It was very flimsy and thin.  The box I picked up ended up having some heavy items in it.  The weight shifted and the box started to flex like it was made of rubber.  This caused my weight to shift in a strange way and for my back to be pulled.  Now if this was a once and done sort of thing I would say it was a fluke. But I saw it happen again on the next move.  I also saw the box drop and thousands of dollars of plates get destroyed. Now I knew it was the box and I knew I had to do something about it.

Well, the answer is pretty darn simple.  Go and get new boxes.  I landed on a packaging supplies store and found out all about boxes.  There are thick, thin, heavy, and lightboxes.  This company made them for lots of big manufacturers and shipping companies.  So I called them up and found out that they also made moving packages.  The packaging supplies store moving packages were about 25 to 30 bucks and they came with heavy-duty moving boxes.  They also came with heavy-duty tape and markers.  I know it sounds silly.  This was really a huge help to me and my life.

You better believe I picked them up for the next move.  My bro in law was a bit shocked, but we had the easiest move of all time and they were more organized.  Instantly I knew I was on to something and decided to do this for each move.  Most people think I am a bit crazy, but they really do enjoy the outcome and to me, that brings joy to my life.
